Moonfire is Hiring a Machine Learning Engineer

At Moonfire, we're a small team so it's cause for excitement when we decide to expand the family. As we described in our recent blog post which announced our $60m European Pre-Seed and Seed Fund, we believe that European tech and venture is going through a renaissance and now is the perfect time for a new fund to support founders at the earliest stage. It could not be a better time to launch a new seed fund to support the industry. Our first $60 million fund marks Moonfire’s first official moment but, of course, we have been working away in the background over the last year, building the team, building our technology and making our first investments in companies like Humaans, Skunkworks, Oliva, and many more.

We are looking to bring on a high-performing individual who will help us define and deliver our core technology roadmap. As I described in my Doubling Down on Data and Technology at Moonfire blog post, software, data, and technology are central to everything that we do at Moonfire. We are excited to bring someone onto the team who will be responsible for helping us build the internal machine learning and software solutions that automate and accelerate as much of the traditional venture capital process as possible.

While there are many approaches and perspectives towards how to apply machine learning techniques in industrial environments, deep learning has been firmly established as the future of machine learning. As such, we're looking for someone who is passionate about deep learning and has experience delivering neural solutions to complex problems for domains like natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, etc.

It's also worth noting that there is a lot to an end-to-end machine learning solution - from conceptualization, to the acquisition of relevant data, to the exploratory data analysis, to the modeling and training, to the integration into a working system, to the ongoing refinement of models. We're looking for someone who is well versed in and experienced with all aspects of machine learning delivery.

While we're building out our core technology stack at Moonfire, we routinely have to integrate models into production systems and/or create new production systems from scratch. As such, we're looking for someone who is an extremely competent end-to-end Software Engineer, able to take on and execute towards complicated production software engineering objectives.
